A SUPER Saturday!!!!

Last Saturday we had a great family (the Pecks) come over for most of the day. They have 8 kids (one of whom is on a mission and another who is leaving very soon) and most of them are around one of our ages. We talked, played games, had dinner, laughed, and some went sledding. It was such a fun-filled day.

My mom helped Sis. Peck start a blog for her missionary sons. As they were setting it up they told me to go get a picture of Loren (he's the one going on a mission very soon) to put on there. So I went out there and, very obviously (I thought), took a picture of him. Well when he came to look at the blog, he saw the picture of himself and was really shocked because he didn't know I had taken it. I thought it was so funny. Anyway... here is that picture...

After dinner, it came time to milk our goats and so we all went down and milked together. Most of the Pecks got a turn to milk, and some even twice. It was quite an event.

All in all, we had 17 people in our home, 8 of which were under the age of 14 and we didn't have one single fight or argument. Amazing or what?!!?

So to wrap up, I had a wonderful day and hope that we have many more gatherings with them. And I hope that Loren has a wonderful, successful, safe mission.

New Year' Eve

For New Years Eve, we party. We have a tradition that we spread out all over the family room floor with sleeping bags, pillow, blankets, and the likes. We have pizza, ice cream and all kinds of other treats and watch movies all night (and morning) long. Me and three of my other siblings set a new record - we stayed up till 3:45 am of the new year, just watching movies.
We also have a tradition that we all get paja
mas. My mom had the thought that we should all have white shirts. Not a good idea. You should have seen some of our shirts. Stained with ice cream and who knows what else. A total mess! But that's okay... they look great!

We have a new camera and didn't know how to get it to take a picture on timer. This is one that we didn't know it was taking!

The best one.

And of course, a funny one.

We also have a tradition that we go over to my Aunt and Uncle's house and play games on New Years Day. We have a great time. Here are random pictures from that...

Playing Scrabble.

My sister and I playing Blink, the fastest game ever.

My other sister playing "THE BUBBLE GAME" on my dads phone.

And last but not least, the custest guy ever.

Merry (late) Christmas

Just thought I should probably write since I haven't in a while. Sorry about that.
My Christmas was wonderful. It was great to spend time with family and celebrate the birth of Christ. Some of the family woke up early and took care of our animals, then woke the rest of us up (or at least got us up) and we opened presents. We do Christmas different in the sense that we get presents that will help us come closer to Christ. I got a sign that says "Prepare to meet God", among other things. We also have a tradition of going to brunch at my grandparents house on Christmas day. We have such a big meal and a great time. After that we visited my other grandparents, came home and lounged... watched movies and vegged out.
Here are pictures of the family...

opening a present. oh the suspense.

didn't know we were taking that one...

or that one...

or this one.

just lounging
sorry - no pictures of me.

And we had a white Christmas. Did you know that a white Christmas does not just mean that you have snow on the ground but that it actually snows on Christmas day? I learned that from my all-knowing Aunt at brunch. So here a couple pictures of our white Christmas!! Isn't it beautiful? (
They were taken from the car. I apologize for the blurriness. )

Great fun, great memories.

Fun weekend

Last week we went to our good friends, the Bergesons. It was a fun filled weekend with movies, games, great food and good company. The adults talked while all the kids watched movies and played (mostly air hockey). We laughed, we relaxed. Some stayed up far into the night (and even into the wee hours of day) just talking. Chad (the dad) cooked all the terrific meals. There was shopping sprees. Oh, and blogging. All in all, a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for the good times. We hope to see you soon (up here).

And my family...
